On September 13, 1997 a combined group of 41 people from Millard Bible Church and a group from the Papillion area assembled together to form what would become Rolling Hills Church.
On May 10, 1998 Rolling Hills launched the "Grand Opening" of their new church building located at 1510 Papillion Drive. It was an exciting morning of worship and celebration of God’s provision.
Pastor Rod Anderson was called to serve as the first Senior Pastor of RHC. During the first six years, under the leadership of Pastor Rod, the church continued to grow not only in numbers but in its impact in the Papillion Community.
Rolling Hills Church called its second pastor, Brian Classen, an Omaha native. Brian accepted the call of Senior Pastor and arrived on June 1, 2004. Brian’s 17 years of pastoral experience was in Student Ministries where he served as youth pastor in three churches ranging in size from 400 to 5,000 members. His experience in large church ministry drives his passion to keep people connected through small groups. Soon after his arrival, RHC launched their dynamic Small Group Ministry.

The next year and a half, we saw dramatic growth and change. Our attendance grew from a little over 100 to over 300 and many came to know Christ and were baptized as a result of the ministries of RHC.
On December 18, 2005 we officially launched the new name of Shadow Lake Community Church. The leadership felt this change would help identify us more with our community and geographically place us in the Papillion area. It was an exciting morning as the Mayor and other dignitaries celebrated the launching of Shadow Lake Community Church.
On October 1, 2006 a partnership with Pleasantview Church was formed. The joining of these two bodies, with the vision that together that they could accomplish more than apart, has led to an exciting new era at Shadow Lake Community Church.
With a continued commitment to the Word of God and a heart for evangelism we have seen the church body grow to over 600 strong. We are excited to see how God will use us to “Impact Our Community for Eternity”. We invite you to join us on this exciting journey as together we write the next chapter of Shadow Lake Community Church.
The Bible is God's Word to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world. He accomplished this by dying on the cross and rising again on the third day. This proved that He not only had power over sin, but death itself.
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God's creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin." This attitude separates man from God.
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.
